The official DVD highlights of the 2010/2011 Ashes Test series from Australia, which saw England historically clinching a 3-1 series win and retaining the Ashes.
England had famously regained The Ashes in the 2009 Test series. That, of course, was on English (and Welsh) soil. But, to be regarded as a truly great English cricket team they had to go Down Under and beat Australia (or at least Draw) in their own backyard - something they hadn't done since Mike Gatting's squad won 2-1 in the 1986/87 series!
The 1st Test in Brisbane saw England making a shaky start following a great spell of bowling by Peter Siddle, and Australia enjoyed a lead of 221 after the first innings. England were immediately under pressure - enter Alastair Cook! He scored a magnificent 235 as England posted a massive 517 for 1 to ensure a comfortable draw.
On to Adelaide for the 2nd Test and this time Kevin Pietersen scored an impressive 227 to secure a massive 1st innings lead for England. Graeme Swann took 5 for 91 in Australia's 2nd innings and England had easily won by a huge innings and 71 runs. Just one more Test victory would see the Ashes retained...
But, on a lively track in Perth, Mitchell Johnson and Ryan Harris destroyed England as Australia won comfortably by 267 runs. This would now be a huge test of character for the England squad, were they up to it?
The answer was a resounding 'yes' as England triumphed in the Melbourne Test by an innings and 157 runs. Chris Tremlett and Tim Bresnan both took '4 fors' and Jonathan Trott scored 168 as England historically retained the Ashes - cue huge celebrations amongst players and supporters alike. Could England now clinch a Test series win though?
Once again the answer was 'yes'!
