Robert Charles 'Jack' Russell was born on 15th August, 1963 in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Jack retired from first class cricket at the age of 40 with a reputation as being an outstanding wicket keeper, brilliant at standing up to the wicket to spin and medium pace, as well as being a somewhat eccentric character.

He was well known for his love of tea, for soaking his Weetabix for a specific amount of time and for insisting on wearing his white 'floppy' hat during play. Catch all the greatest moments from this iconic England wicket keepers career with a range of Jack Russell DVDs and books.

Russell played first class cricket for his home county of Gloucestershire and made his England Test debut in August 1988 at Lord's against Sri Lanka. He took three catches in the match and also scored an impressive 94 in his maiden innings. His 54th and final Test was in the West Indies in March 1998. During his England career Jack took 153 catches, made 12 stumpings and scored 1,897 runs (including two 100s) at 27.10.

During a rain affected match at Worcester, Russell popped into the local WH Smith and bought some artist materials and so began his career as an artist.
