Volume Five of the very enjoyable “Total Fishing with Matt Hayes” television series concentrates on the pursuit of Perch and Trout.
Matt Hayes is a fine television presenter and has hosted many successful programmes on Discovery Real Time. Not only that, he is also a very accomplished angler, regarded by many as one of the best in the country. Teaming up with regular co-host Mick Brown – “Sir Michael” – Matt delivers a superb collection of anecdotal angling adventures. Each programme is stacked full of handy tips and hints from Matt and Mick, as well as various guest experts from their own specific genre of fishing.
With an easy access menu, this DVD is a fishing enthusiast’s dream, offering great fishing from superb locations. Here, in Volume Five, ‘Captain Hayes’ and his band of men set sail along the River Severn gunning for Perch and later nestle down in Devon at the aptly named Anglers Paradise for some fly-fishing for Trout. It is one of the more successful episodes with Matt landing loads of Perch (as well as a hefty Pike!) and then netting beautiful Rainbow Trout in the South West. There is an interview with Zyg Gregorek who built the lake at Anglers Paradise and the usual blend of comical dialogue and superbly demonstrated advice and tips.
This whole series of ‘Total Fishing’ is a brilliant advert for the sport and a wonderful tutorial as well. It is full of jovial banter and interesting content from presenter Matt Hayes, one of the sports very finest.
