Description

At last! This DVD "1972 FA Cup Final" is a must-have for any Leeds United fan, celebrating the team's only ever triumph against Arsenal in the world's most famous club competition.

It was a final that marked the Centenary of the great tournament and it was fitting that it was contested between the best two teams in the country at that time. The FA Cup Final between Leeds United and Arsenal was, on paper at least, a classic.

Having come runners up in both 1965 and 1970, the Leeds team in 1972 were determined to make it third time lucky for their supporters. The game was fiercely contested with several yellow cards being handed about. Little surprise when the line-ups of the sides contained such names as Norman Hunter, Jack Charlton and Billy Bremner for Leeds, as well as Bob McNabb and Frank McLintock of Arsenal. The decisive goal came from a most reliable source. Mick Jones, who later dislocated his shoulder, set up Allan Clarke to power a header past Geoff Barnett. Leeds continued to dominate thereafter and the only surprise was that the score remained 1-0. There were wild celebrations from the Leeds fans at the final whistle and Hunter helped the injured Jones up the steps to collect his winners' medal.

Leeds fans around the globe should own this piece of Yorkshire folklore - the day when Leeds United finally lifted the FA Cup, defeating Arsenal 1-0 in the process.
