It was the team's first FA Cup Final at the new Millennium Stadium. Despite dominating play from the kick-off, it took until a minute before half time for the deadlock to be broken, with Portuguese wonder kid Cristiano Ronaldo heading home. The second half continued in much the same vein with Millwall rarely threatening. Eventually the pressure told and it was Welsh wizard Ryan Giggs that did the damage, inducing a rash challenge in the area that gave Ruud Van Nistelrooy the opportunity to convert the obvious penalty. Van Nistelrooy made it 3-0 soon after and the FA Cup once more headed back to Old Trafford.
