It was Stoke City's moment at last. "Stoke City Vs Chelsea 1972 League Cup Final" is the complete story on DVD of the greatest day in the club's long history.

For over a century Stoke City football club had striven to win a trophy for its ardent and passionate fan base. They had gone close the year before, when in 1971, the team reached the FA Cup Semi Finals. But it was Wembley 1972 against Chelsea that the dream finally turned into reality for The Potters.

It was Stoke City's first ever major cup final and the team were determined to bring home the trophy to Staffordshire, having already defeated Manchester United and West Ham en route. In its way stood the strong and talented Chelsea team. Under the skilful leadership of manager Tony Waddington, the second oldest club in the country began brightly and took the lead through Terry Conroy after just five minutes play. Predictably the Londoners fought back and Peter Osgood pounced to level at 1-1 at the break. Undeterred, Stoke City held its nerve and with a little over a quarter of an hour remaining recaptured the lead via George Eastham, ensuring that his name would forever be remembered in the Potteries.

Every Stoke City fan must own this DVD; it is the most historic landmark in the clubs history and will be watched over and over again.
