Now you can watch this great FA Cup Final whenever you like. When old rivals Liverpool and Everton came together on Saturday 20th May 1989 it was an unforgettable day and an unforgettable match.
A highly charged Wembley final saw the Reds take home the FA Cup.
Liverpool began well, with John Aldridge scoring after just four minutes. It was a particularly meaningful goal for Aldridge because in the previous year's final, on practically the same spot, he had missed his penalty goal. After 85 minutes, it looked like that single goal had clinched victory. Enter Stuart McCall with a surprise goal in the dying moments of the match, forcing extra time. Everton looked promising at the start of time but they were overtaken when Liverpool substitute Ian Rush fired a heroic shot into the top of the net. The Blues, not ready to surrender yet, equalised with a shot from McCall but it wasn't to be their day. A fantastic header from the hero of the day, Ian Rush, made it 3-2 to Liverpool. The game finally belonged to the Reds.
The 1989 FA Cup Final between arch rivals Liverpool and Everton was an unforgettable match. It had it all: passion, excitement and suspense. Join Ian Rush, Stuart McCall and the rest for a classic match, now available as a full highlights package on DVD including all the post-match reaction.
