The second half saw out and out action from two teams that were as keen as each other to take that glorious silverware home. The Reds made a breakthrough in the first minutes of the second half when Michael Thomas lobbed a ball home following some nice footwork from Steve McManaman. Ian Rush cemented Liverpool's beautiful victory with a great goal that made history as his fifth and record breaking FA Cup Final goal.
