25th May 1977 - a red letter day in the history of Liverpool Football. This DVD shows the whole match of the 1977 European Cup Final, between Liverpool and Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Only a few days after losing in the FA Cup Final, 30,000 Liverpool fans made the trip to Rome to see their team take on the Germans, Borussia Moenchengladbach, in the European Cup Final.

The Reds opened the scoring as Terry McDermott finished off a typically fluent Reds' move. Liverpool held the lead till the second half when early after the re-start Allan Simonsen bagged an equaliser. On sixty four minutes Tommy Smith rose in the area to send a Heighway corner into the top corner with a magnificent header. With just eight minutes to go and the Reds well in control Kevin Keegan went on a mazy run towards goal. German centre back Berti Vogts couldn't keep pace and brought Keegan to his knees just inside the area for a blatant penalty. Phil Neal stepped up and calmly slotted the ball home for 3-1.

This is it, the whole match from the Olympic Stadium in Rome, on 25th May 1977. In his last game for Liverpool, Kevin Keegan showed how to lead the line with courage, energy and skill. Bob Paisley's all-conquering Reds paid a fitting tribute to the legacy of those great Shankly years.

Now you can relive that historic day on this classic DVD showing the whole game: Liverpool's first ever European Cup triumph, and Kevin Keegan's last ever Liverpool game. Available now from the Sky Sports DVD Shop.
