"Manchester United Vs Liverpool" is the full, comprehensive account from the 1977 FA Cup Final, when the Red Devils won yet another Cup Final at Wembley.

Bobby Stokes of Southampton had broken Manchester United hearts a year earlier in a shock 1-0 victory in the FA Cup Final. Determined not to endure such heartbreak again, United went in to the match with a steely determination and understated optimism.

There was no doubt that the Liverpool team were favourites. After all, they were bidding to complete an unprecedented treble of League, European Cup and FA Cup, a feat ironically that United would go on to achieve in the ordinary season of 1999 under Sir Alex Ferguson. Containing the likes of Kevin Keegan, Jimmy Case and Terry McDermott, Liverpool held firm for the first half. The game exploded in to life soon after the break and Stuart Pearson and Jimmy Case exchanged goals to make the score 1-1. All winning sides need a fraction of luck and United deservedly got it when Lou Macari's shot, which may have been more corner flag bound than back of the net bound, deflected off of Jimmy Greenhof's chest and looped over Ray Clemence in the Liverpool goal. United had avenged the defeat from last year and at the same time, prevented their great rivals from achieving a famous treble.

Watch all the thrills again in this souvenir DVD, celebrating Manchester United's 2-1 win over Liverpool in the Wembley Cup Final of 1977. Please note that the programme contains the occasional picture glitch taken from the original transmission.
