In 1877 a group of pupils from St Luke's school in Blakenhall founded their own football team. In 1879 they merged with The Wanderers, a local cricket and football team, to form the famous Wolverhampton Wanderers that we know today.

Wolves were one of the twelve founder members of the Football League in 1888 and finished that inaugural season in third place. A year later Wolves moved to their famous ground, Molineux. Early success was thin on the ground although they did win the FA Cup in 1893 and 1908.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have a proud history and a great tradition. Although recent times have not produced much success in terms of trophies, there are a number Wolves DVDs available allowing you to relive great moments, goals and highlights from the past.
