Despite not being one of golf's 'majors', the Ryder Cup is one of the most eagerly anticipated sporting events in the world. It is held every two years, alternating between golf courses in Europe and the United States.

The Ryder Cup has been played since 1927 and after much American dominance is now a heavyweight affair between the best golfers in Europe and the United States - all playing for pride as opposed to prize money.
