Against all the odds, it was Sebastian Vettel who drove a near-perfect race to clinch first position and, with Alonso and Webber being held up, it was sufficient to win the 2010 F1 Drivers' Championship. An emotional Vettel was told of the news through the team radio only seconds after passing the chequered flag and had become the youngest ever Formula One Champion.
The chase for the championship was so intense that 2009 winner Jenson Button was still in the mix at the penultimate Grand Prix in Brazil, where Red Bull took the Constructors Championship with another incredible one-two.
Plus, 2010 saw the arrival of three brand new teams, amazing debuts from several outstanding young drivers and the return of the legend – Michael Schumacher.
