Austin Healey was born on 26th October, 1973, in Wallasey, Cheshire.
Healey had previously played on the wing and at outside centre for Orrell before signing for Leicester Tigers as scrum half and would eventually help Leicester win two Heineken Cups. His form at Leicester earned an England call up, where he played at scrum half, fly half, full back and wing. He also went on the Lions tour to Australia in 2001, where he developed a rivalry with lock Justin Harrison, after calling him "the plank". Austin's outspoken nature earned him the nickname "The Leicester Lip".
In an excellent international career Healey ended with 51 England and 2 Lions caps. Many of the versatile player's crucial performances have been captured on DVD for rugby fans of both Leicester and England to enjoy.
